EVACUEES TO DERBYSHIRE

 

This picture has been donated to the Leigh Society archive and shows school children evacuated from Leigh in the early 1940s.  They were sent to Springbank School, New Mills, Derbyshire.

 

The Society does have some information on the identity of the children, but if you, or a member of your family, was evacuated from Leigh and can identify anyone in the picture or have a story about your evacuation experience please get in touch at leighlives@btinternet.com
